Our Theory of Change

When families lead, children thrive.

We build parent and caregiver power to transform education. When families have advocacy support, knowledge, and opportunities to organize together, they can shape the decisions that affect their children and drive lasting systems change.

Families and community at the center

Parents and caregivers know their children and communities. Their lived experiences, priorities, and leadership guide our work at every stage.

1. Advocacy support

Free one-on-one advocacy helps families navigate school concerns, understand their rights, and prepare to speak up for their children.

2. Knowledge and skills

Workshops, literacy education, and leadership development give families tools to understand school systems, participate in decisions, and advocate with confidence.

3. Organizing and mobilizing

Families connect, identify shared concerns, build relationships, and take collective action. Individual experiences become a shared agenda for change.

4. Systems change

Parent-led advocacy seeks changes in school, district, and state policies and practices—advancing literacy, educational rights, equitable resources, and accountability.

The change we seek

Parents lead. Schools listen. Communities thrive. Every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Addressing the conditions around us

Systemic racism and oppression shape the barriers families face. We center communities most affected by educational disparities and work to change the systems that create those inequities.

What families experience informs our advocacy. What we learn through advocacy and organizing strengthens our support, knowledge building, and next steps.
