Systems Change
Changing Systems. Expanding Opportunity.
Supporting one family at a time is important, but lasting impact requires changing the systems that shape educational experiences for every child.
At S.T.A.N.D. Up Minnesota Parents United, we work alongside parents, educators, community leaders, and policymakers to transform education by ensuring families have a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect their children.
We believe educational equity is achieved not only through individual advocacy, but through collective action that leads to lasting policy and systemic change.
Our Approach
Parent-Led Solutions
Parents are experts in their children's experiences. We organize and equip families to move beyond participation and into leadership, helping shape policies, practices, and decisions that strengthen schools and communities.
Community Organizing
We bring together parents, community organizations, educators, and advocates to identify challenges, develop solutions, and build collective power around issues that matter most to Minnesota families.
Policy & Advocacy
We advocate for policies that improve educational outcomes, protect students' rights, advance literacy, strengthen family engagement, and promote equitable opportunities for all children.
Accountability
Strong systems are transparent, responsive, and accountable to the communities they serve. We work to ensure that families have meaningful opportunities to influence decisions and hold institutions accountable for equitable outcomes.
Areas of Focus
Our systems change work includes:
Educational equity
Literacy and the Minnesota READ Act

Our Vision
We envision a future where families are not consulted after decisions are made—they are trusted partners in shaping the future of education.
By organizing parents, building community partnerships, and advancing equitable policies, we are working toward schools where every child is valued, every family is respected, and every community has the opportunity to thrive.
Because Lasting Change Happens Together.
Real systems change doesn't happen in isolation.
It happens when informed families, responsive schools, and engaged communities work together to create opportunities that benefit every child—not just today, but for generations to come.
